JAMMU July 28 – The Northern Command of the Indian Army and the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance indigenous defense technologies under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The strategic partnership aims to leverage academic excellence and research capabilities at IIT Jammu to engineer mission-oriented solutions across specialized operational domains.Presided over by Army Commander Northern Command Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the signing ceremony took place during NAVARAMBH’26, the institute’s Inaugural Foundation Course. Key dignitaries present included White Knight Corps General Officer Commanding Lieutenant General PK Mishra, IIT Jammu Director Manoj Singh Gaur, Dean of Administration and Operations Bacham Eswar Reddy, and Dean of Research and Consultancy Durai Prabhakaran.
Addressing the audience of senior military officers, faculty, and students, Lieutenant General Sharma emphasized the importance of collaborative research to build technology-driven, operational solutions for the Indian Army, reinforcing national efforts toward self-reliance and modern defense capabilities.
