JAMMU, JULY 27 — The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 continues to see a steady rush of devotion as the 20th batch of pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu today under a tight, multi-tier security cover heading toward the Baltal base camp.
A total of 3,823 devotees are part of this morning’s departure, comprising 2,882 males, 838 females, 2 children, 84 Sadhus, and 17 Sadhvis. To facilitate smooth and secure transit along the national highway, the pilgrims are traveling in a coordinated fleet of 140 vehicles, which includes 82 buses, 20 Medium Motor Vehicles (MMVs), and 38 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs).
Security forces and Police have deployed heightened security measures, area domination patrols, and real-time tracking along the entire route to ensure a safe journey for all yatris traveling to pay homage at the holy cave shrine.
