SRINAGAR JULY 26 — Educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir are set to resume normal academic activities on Monday, July 27, with officials confirming no further extensions to the summer break following a significant improvement in weather conditions across the Union Territory.
Confirming the development, senior officials from the School Education Department and the office of Education Minister Sakina Itoo stated that all government and recognized private schools across both the Kashmir Division and Jammu Division will function as scheduled.
The resumption follows multiple vacation extensions prompted by adverse weather. Originally slated to run from July 6 to July 19 for Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu, the summer break was initially extended through July 22 due to severe heatwave conditions.
A second extension kept schools closed until July 26 in response to Meteorological Department warnings of heavy rainfall and high flash flood risks between July 20 and July 23. With weather patterns stabilizing across the region, administrative directives have instructed all primary and secondary schools to safely reopen tomorrow and resume regular classes.
