KATHUA, July 25 — Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua Mohita Sharma chaired a joint security review meeting at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines Kathua to evaluate arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Attended by senior officers from the police, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and other security agencies, the meeting assessed surveillance protocols, convoy management, quick response team deployments, and emergency response plans across the district.
During the meeting, Mohita Sharma directed officers to maintain maximum alertness while ensuring a pilgrim-friendly approach throughout the yatra. She instructed supervisory teams to conduct regular inspections of lodgement centers, langars, and key yatra facilities, alongside strengthening intelligence sharing to track suspicious activities.
Specific directives were also issued to secure the border national highway and railway tracks through round-the-clock area domination, active checkpoints, continuous CCTV monitoring, and seamless inter-agency coordination to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.
