JAMMU, July 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar launched the regional leg of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign, organized through the Mera Yuva Bharat initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The drive aims to mobilize young people against substance abuse through nationwide awareness programs, community involvement, and creative expression. Speaking at the launch, officials emphasized that building a drug-free society requires active cooperation across all sectors and urged the youth to join through online registration.
To build momentum, a series of educational and cultural activities will take place across district level institutions, including debates, traditional arts, quiz competitions, and digital content creation.
The broader national campaign features upcoming high-level events, including a national address and pledge administered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as a youth conclave scheduled for August 14 with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Local administrators and sports representatives pledged full organizational support to ensure broad public participation throughout the Union Territory.
