SRINAGAR, July 24 — Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high level review meeting to assess the progress of e-Governance and Information Technology projects being implemented across various Jammu and Kashmir government departments in partnership with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics.
The meeting brought together key administrative secretaries, senior police officers, and technical experts to evaluate the implementation status, resolve operational bottlenecks, and accelerate project completion timelines. Emphasizing that digital transformation is central to governance reforms, the Chief Secretary instructed departments to ensure seamless coordination and leverage emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence to enhance public service delivery, boost operational transparency, and simplify administrative procedures for citizens.
The meeting evaluated several major technological interventions, including the Finance Department’s AI based GST Analytics and Fraud Detection Portal, which has issued over four thousand notices to improve tax compliance and revenue recovery.
Discussions also covered the Power Development Department’s End to End Energy Tracking and Management System, the Mining Department’s satellite enabled surveillance platform for curbing illegal mining, and the School Education Department’s JK e-Pathshala television channel. Further progress was reviewed across agriculture applications, the redesigned tourism portal featuring an interactive chatbot, modernized land records, and the JK Samadhan grievance redressal platform.
The Chief Secretary concluded the session by directing all agencies to meet project deadlines and continuously monitor progress to ensure time bound, transparent governance across the Union Territory.
