SRINAGAR, July 24 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Lalpora in Beerwah, Budgam, today to meet the family members of Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who died in the line of duty during a recent terror attack in Anantnag.
Expressing his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the Lieutenant Governor paid tributes to the fallen policeman, stating that the entire nation takes pride in his courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty.
During the visit, Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasized that the ideals of devotion to duty shown by the police officer will continue to inspire future generations across the Union Territory.
He assured the grieving family that the administration stands firmly behind them to ensure their well-being and dignity, promising full support including assistance until the son of Ashiq Hussain Qureshi completes his studies and becomes eligible for a compassionate government appointment.
Highlighting the ongoing efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the region, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon society, particularly the youth, to draw strength from the policeman’s dedication and remain united against terrorism.
