KISHTWAR July 2026— Ahead of the annual Machail Yatra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting to finalize robust security, traffic management, and logistical arrangements for the pilgrimage. The high-level meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including officials from the Indian Army, CISF, NDRF, SDRF, Traffic Police, Fire & Emergency Services, and representatives from the civil administration. During the session, SSP Singh presented a detailed operational plan covering route mapping, sector-wise personnel deployment, pilgrim cut-off timings, and contingency plans for communication shadow areas. Highlighting the role of modern surveillance, authorities emphasized real-time monitoring through drones, CCTV networks, and joint control rooms to maintain round-the-clock vigilance along the entire Yatra route.
In addition to security measures, the meeting reviewed essential arrangements for traffic regulation, designated parking, disaster management, and emergency medical services. SSP Singh instructed all participating agencies to ensure seamless inter-agency coordination, clear public communication systems, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Working alongside civil administration departments, security forces are also prioritizing pilgrim welfare by establishing medical camps, drinking water facilities, sanitation units, and safe halting accommodations. Concluding the review with a zero-tolerance mandate regarding security lapses, officers were directed to maintain maximum alertness to guarantee a peaceful, safe, and well-managed pilgrimage.
