BARAMULLA, July 23 – A sudden cloudburst struck a village in the Uri area of Baramulla district, bringing a massive surge of water, mud, and boulders that transformed the landscape within minutes.
Large rocks carried by the flash flood buried parts of the village, causing extensive damage to roads and surrounding agricultural land.Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Local authorities are actively assessing the structural damage, while residents have begun the arduous task of clearing debris from the affected areas. The incident highlights the growing risk of sudden weather-related disasters across the region during the monsoon season.
