SRINAGAR, July 23, 2026 — Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha convened a comprehensive high-level security review meeting in Srinagar today to assess the region’s security apparatus and the arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Taking to the social media platform X, the LG confirmed that the strategic briefing included top brass from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Civil Administration, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other key intelligence and security agencies. In light of the recent heavy rainfall and inclement weather gripping the region, Sinha undertook a detailed evaluation of the logistical and safety protocols in place for the annual pilgrimage.
Prioritizing the welfare of the devotees, he issued strict directives to all allied departments to ensure seamless inter-agency coordination, guaranteeing the utmost safety, well-being, and convenience for all pilgrims making the sacred journey to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani.
