SRINAGAR, JULY 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Voluntary Medicare Society to review healthcare, educational, and sports development programs for persons with disabilities across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
During discussions with organization office bearers led by founder Mir Mohammad Maqbool and vice president Masooda Yasin, leadership deliberated on critical demands including robotic physiotherapy equipment, dedicated skill centers, an indoor sports hall, and specialized wheelchairs for adaptive athletes.
Commending the five-decade service of the society, the lieutenant governor reaffirmed the government commitment to establishing a structured sports ecosystem and setting up a dedicated regional para sports association.
Touring rehabilitation wards and interacting with special-needs children, Sinha highlighted the national and international achievements of local para-athletes, promising enhanced administrative backing, modern equipment, and expanded training exposure to nurture specially-abled youth across the territory.
