JAMMU | July 22, 2026 — In a major initiative aimed at empowering retiring military personnel for civilian employment, 34 Defence Forces personnel have begun a comprehensive Industrial Automation Course under the aegis of the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) and the Directorate of Resettlement, Zone (North), Udhampur.
Running from July 13 to October 2, 2026, at Race Automation IASC in Sainik Colony, Jammu, the program was officially inaugurated by the Director of Resettlement Zone (North), who stressed the critical role of reskilling in securing rewarding second careers. Designed to bridge military expertise with modern industrial needs, the specialized training equips service members with high-demand competencies in Smart Manufacturing, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), SCADA Systems, Robotics, and Industrial Sensors.
By combining their inherent discipline, leadership, and problem-solving skills with cutting-edge technical expertise, this DGR effort ensures veterans remain vital contributors to nation-building while transitioning seamlessly into the rapidly growing automation and manufacturing sectors.
