SRINAGAR July 22, 2026 — Widespread rainfall swept across Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Ladakh over the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 a.m. today, with several areas in the Jammu region experiencing exceptionally heavy downpours, according to data compiled by Kashmir Weather.
In the Jammu region, Kathua topped the charts with a massive 153.4 mm of precipitation, closely followed by Samba at 133.0 mm and Udhampur at 132.6 mm. Major transit hubs and hill stations were also hit by intense precipitation, including Jammu Airport (67.7 mm), Jammu city (62.1 mm), Katra (58.5 mm), Poonch (51.0 mm), and Ramban (49.0 mm).
Across the Kashmir Valley, Gulmarg recorded the highest rainfall at 55.0 mm, followed by Baramulla (37.5 mm), Tangmarg (28.2 mm), Pahalgam (23.8 mm), Awantipora (21.0 mm), and Qazigund (19.6 mm), while summer capital Srinagar registered 8.5 mm. Meanwhile, in the high-altitude region of Ladakh, Leh received 5.2 mm of rain, as severe weather continues to impact movement and daily life across the territory.
