NEW DELHI, JULY 21 — To safeguard the cultural legacy of Jammu and Kashmir and pass it on to future generations, the J&K Resident Commission in New Delhi hosted a dedicated awareness programme on the traditional Dogra custom of Rutt Raahde. Organized in collaboration with the Dogra Welfare Association (Delhi-NCR) and J&K Bank Limited, the event brought together community members, officials, and cultural enthusiasts to highlight the tradition’s environmental, social, and cultural importance.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Resident Commissioner Anil Sharma emphasized that Rutt Raahde goes beyond seasonal celebrations, embodying the scientific wisdom and eco-friendly practices of earlier generations. He noted that staying connected to such roots fosters intergenerational learning, strengthens social cohesion, and enhances emotional well-being.
