SAMBA, JULY 21, 2026 — In a continued effort to eradicate illicit drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police arrested a suspected drug peddler on Tuesday and seized approximately 10.65 grams of a heroin-like substance, locally known as Chitta, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on a reliable tip-off, a police team established a strategic naka (checkpoint) at Mansar Morh, where they intercepted a pedestrian acting suspiciously. Upon conducting a personal search, officers recovered the contraband from the individual, identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu. Law enforcement officials immediately placed Kumar under arrest and confiscated the drug.
Following the operation, a formal case was registered at Police Station Samba under FIR No. 215/2026, invoking Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act, with further investigations currently underway to trace the supply network.
