BARAMULLA,July 20, 2026 — In a major breakthrough against regional terror networks, a joint team of Indian security forces uncovered a massive hidden cache of war-like stores in the dense Kandi forest area of Baramulla district on Monday.
Acting on precise intelligence inputs generated by the Baramulla Police, a well-coordinated search operation was launched involving the Indian Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), the Baramulla Police, the 53 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). During the meticulously executed sweeps, security personnel located and seized two sophisticated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two pistols, and 530 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition concealed deep within the forest terrain.
