SRINAGAR, JULY 20, 2026: In a massive crackdown on the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks, the Srinagar Police has attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crores belonging to notorious drug peddlers under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan. Operating under the stringent provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, law enforcement officials from the Nowhatta Police Station seized these illegally acquired assets, which were generated directly through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. The multi-million rupee enforcement action targeted key offenders across various locations, dismantling residential properties that had been built or acquired using narco-funding.
Among the seized assets, the police attached a double-storeyed residential house valued at ₹85 lakh belonging to Sajad Ahmad Sheikh in Hawal, linked to FIR No. 55/2024, alongside a ₹55 lakh double-storeyed house owned by Mst. Hajra Begum in Nowhatta under FIR No. 13/2022. Further enforcement in Nowhatta’s Tujgari Mohalla led to the attachment of a four-storeyed house worth ₹75 lakh belonging to habitual offender Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh (alias Gulloo), who faces multiple charges across FIR Nos. 41/2021, 11/2018, and 06/2013. Additionally, a single-storeyed residence valued at ₹55 lakh belonging to Fahmeeda (alias Famba) under FIR No. 32/2019, and a ₹75 lakh double-storeyed house owned by Abdul Ahad Sheikh—implicated in FIR Nos. 32/2019, 40/2019, and 48/2019—were frozen by authorities.
The relentless anti-narcotics drive also targeted Gh. Nabi Sheikh’s three-storeyed house in Tujgari Mohalla, valued at ₹90 lakh, following his involvement in three separate NDPS cases dating back to 2005. Recent investigations under FIR No. 57/2025 led to the simultaneous attachment of three high-value properties: a ₹90 lakh double-storeyed house belonging to Altaf Ahmad Sheikh in Kathidarwaza, an ₹85 lakh residential building owned by Hyder Ali Wani in Rainawari, and a ₹95 lakh three-storeyed house belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh, also located in Rainawari. Rounding out the major operation, authorities attached a double-storeyed residential house on 7 marlas of land in Qamarwari, valued at ₹95 lakh, belonging to Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh under FIR No. 52/2019.
