DODA, — July 13, 2026: In line with its ongoing commitment to regional development and local employment generation, the Indian Army successfully concluded a month-long basic welding course at Gwari village in the Doda district. Conducted under the aegis of the Operation Sadbhavana Project from June 8 to July 12, 2026, the specialized training program was designed to equip local youth with vital technical skills, empowering them toward self-reliance. The course concluded with an official closing ceremony on Monday, celebrating the graduation of ten candidates from diverse and remote backgrounds across the Gwari region who demonstrated immense dedication to mastering the trade.
Led by a qualified instructor, the comprehensive training curriculum provided the participants with the hands-on technical expertise, safety knowledge, and practical skills necessary to foster entrepreneurship and secure sustainable livelihoods. During the closing ceremony, the newly trained youth expressed their profound gratitude to the Indian Army for creating accessible vocational opportunities in their far-flung communities. By bridging skill gaps and promoting self-employment, this noble initiative under Operation Sadbhavana is set to drive grassroots economic growth and inspire a spirit of self-upliftment among the unemployed youth of the Doda region.
