BOSTON, USA — July 13, 2026: Following its highly successful participation in the Sail4th 250 celebrations in New York, the Indian Naval Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Boston on July 12, 2026, to participate in the prestigious Grand Parade of Sails. Marking the official commencement of Sail Boston 2026, the ship made a ceremonial entry into the city with Shri Raghuram Sastry, the Consul General of India in Boston, embarked on board. Proudly flying the Indian Tricolour, the vessel sailed past iconic landmarks such as Castle Island and the Seaport District before safely berthing at the Boston Fish Pier.
As part of its ongoing Lokayan 2026 transoceanic expedition, INS Sudarshini is serving as a maritime ambassador of goodwill, representing India alongside an international fleet of over 60 tall ships hailing from more than 20 countries. This deployment underscores the Indian Navy’s steadfast commitment to international goodwill, cultural exchange, and maritime diplomacy. To foster these global connections, the historic training ship will remain open to the public for visitors from July 12 to July 15, 2026. This Boston visit succeeds previous successful port calls in Norfolk, Baltimore, and New York, further reinforcing the strengthening India–US maritime partnership while showcasing India’s rich seafaring heritage to the world.
