RAJOURI, JULY 12, 2026: In a decisive move to strengthen agricultural governance and crop security, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma conducted a comprehensive, first-hand inspection of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and AgriStack awareness and enrolment camp at KKG Nadian.
The on-site evaluation was aimed at assessing the ground-level implementation, execution quality, and overall community outreach of these vital flagship initiatives designed for agrarian empowerment. During the visit, Sharma meticulously scrutinized the structural arrangements established for mobilising local farmers, facilitating registrations, and distributing essential agricultural inputs. Engaging directly with the local farming community, the Deputy Commissioner gathered crucial, unfiltered feedback regarding the accessibility of crop insurance, registration complexities, and the overall efficiency of departmental service delivery.
“Such camps should transcend routine administrative formalities and instead deliver measurable, high-impact outcomes in terms of widespread digital literacy and maximum farmer enrolment.”says Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri
The inspection, however, brought to light several operational gaps, with the Deputy Commissioner noting deficiencies in advance publicity, suboptimal farmer mobilisation, and a lack of seamless inter-departmental coordination among field-level functionaries. Expressing sharp concern over these administrative shortcomings, Sharma issued strict, immediate directives to the concerned officers to implement corrective measures, ensuring all future agricultural camps are conducted in a highly coordinated, strategic, and result-oriented manner.
To bridge these gaps, the Agriculture and allied departments have been instructed to aggressively ramp up village-level awareness campaigns and actively involve Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to ensure no eligible beneficiary is left behind. Furthermore, taking swift note of the grievances voiced by the farmers during the interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the department to verify and resolve all raised issues within a strict, time-bound framework, mandating the submission of an official Action Taken Report to ensure accountability and robust farmer-centric governance.
