PTTI Vijaypur launches major tree plantation drive on World Environment Day
VIJAYPUR June 05,2026 — The Police Technical Training Institute organized a large-scale tree plantation drive within the institute premises and adjoining areas to promote environmental conservation and strengthen ecological sustainability.
In compliance with the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters, the program was inaugurated by PTTI Vijaypur Principal Ranjit Singh Sambyal IPS, who planted the first sapling and highlighted the importance of collective efforts toward environmental protection.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, staff members, and trainees of the institute, reflecting their shared commitment to preserving nature.During the drive, hundreds of saplings of indigenous, medicinal, fruit-bearing, and shade-giving tree species were planted across the campus to enhance green cover, improve environmental health, combat climate change, and foster a sense of ecological responsibility among police personnel.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasized that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility and that such initiatives play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance for future generations. He urged all participants to not only plant trees but also ensure their proper care and maintenance to maximize long-term environmental benefits.
The event served as an important platform to sensitize trainees and staff about sustainable environmental practices and the significance of preserving natural resources, with participants pledging to contribute actively toward green initiatives in their respective spheres of life. Key officials present on the occasion included Satish Kumar, Khushwant Singh, Neha Bhagat, Asif Iqbal, and Sonali Kohli, along with other officers and institutional staff members.
