KATHUA, May 26, 2026 — Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma conducted a comprehensive security review of all community kitchen points established along the National Highway, including the entry point at Lakhanpur, to ensure the smooth and incident-free conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Accompanied by jurisdictional police officers, the district Senior Superintendent of Police carried out a detailed assessment of the security grids, surveillance setups, and logistical facilities at every designated stop along the pilgrimage axis.
During the inspection drive, the Senior Superintendent of Police issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers to strengthen security measures and enhance coordination among all stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the annual pilgrimage. The review also focused on traffic management, dedicated parking spaces, and public convenience arrangements to prevent congestion on the highway.
Furthermore, all community kitchen management committees were directed to ensure strict compliance with administrative guidelines, including the mandatory installation of high-definition CCTV cameras and maintaining adequate space for incoming vehicles, as part of the ongoing efforts to guarantee a safe, secure, and hassle-free journey for the devotees.
