Delhi Police Crime Branch busts fake spice factory in Old Delhi Khari Baoli
NEW DELHI, May 26, 2026 — The Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an illegal factory manufacturing adulterated spices in the Khari Baoli area of Old Delhi. Acting on specific intelligence, a police team conducted a raid at the manufacturing facility and seized approximately 801.88 kilograms of fake and adulterated spices.
The confiscated materials included large quantities of adulterated red chilli, yellow chilli, and turmeric powder, along with artificial non-edible food colors, rice fragments, chilli stalks, and specialized spice-grinding machinery used in the illicit operation.One accused individual was arrested on the spot during the operation for operating the illegal unit and endangering public health.
The successful raid was led by Inspector Amit Solanki, under the direct guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Pankaj Arora and the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individual as the Crime Branch continues its investigation to trace the supply chain and distribution network of the contaminated products across the capital.
