Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat reviews security for Eid ul Adha and Amarnath Yatra 2026
SRINAGAR, May 26, 2026 — Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat chaired a high-level meeting at the Police Control Room Kashmir to review the security arrangements for the upcoming Eid ul Adha festival and the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The meeting saw active participation from senior officers representing the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal, Central Industrial Security Force, Traffic Police, Railways, and the Indian Army 15 Corps.
The attending officials provided detailed briefings on their operational readiness, security grid layouts, and logistical preparations designed to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage and the upcoming festive celebrations.
To ensure peaceful Eid celebrations, the Director General of Police instructed field officers to implement comprehensive crowd management plans at major mosques and congregation venues across the Kashmir Valley.
He emphasized the need for enhanced surveillance, random inspections at vulnerable locations, and intensified patrolling to maintain public safety and prevent overcrowding. Turning focus toward the Amarnath Yatra, the police chief directed district heads to ensure proper administrative arrangements for incoming Central Armed Police Forces companies and their efficient ground deployment.
He stressed the strict implementation of standard operating procedures, proactive threat mitigation, and robust area domination along the pilgrimage routes. The meeting concluded with all participating security agencies committing to seamless coordination and real-time monitoring to ensure a safe environment throughout the festive and pilgrimage period.
