DRDO defence technology and test centre hosts second MSME conclave in Lucknow to boost UP defence industrial corridor
LUCKNOW, May 24, 2026 :- The Defence Technology and Test Centre of the Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted its second Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises conclave at the Amausi Campus .
Centered around the theme of capacity building of MSMEs for the development of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, the event focused on strengthening local manufacturing capabilities for the defense sector. The conclave was officially inaugurated by Director General of Naval Systems and Materials RV Hara Prasad alongside Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry Uttar Pradesh State Abhishek Saraff, Director of the Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment Kingsuk Mukhupadhayay, and Project Director of the Defence Technology and Test Centre Ashish Dubey.
The event drew over 100 participants from various MSMEs and startups, including a dedicated session focused on the specific support these emerging businesses require from the Defence Research and Development Organisation. In a significant move to kickstart local production, ten critical manufacturing technologies developed by the Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment were officially handed over to industry partners.
The program concluded with an interactive panel discussion addressing the challenges MSMEs face when undertaking defense research and development activities. Director General RV Hara Prasad addressed the queries raised by the participants and advised the businesses to identify areas of collaboration to enhance future defense technologies, aiming to achieve self-reliance and support the broader national goal of a developed India.
