Samba Police solves blind murder case of woman in Bari Brahmana within 48 hours
SAMBA, May 23 — Samba Police has successfully cracked a blind murder case involving a woman in the Bari Brahmana area within 48 hours, leading to the arrest of the accused and the recovery of the weapon used in the crime.
The case unfolded on May 18, 2026, when Police Station Bari Brahmana received reliable information regarding the murder of Anuradha, a resident of Ward Number 7, Channi Kartholi, whose body was found inside her residence.
Following the discovery, authorities immediately registered an FIR under section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an intensive investigation.A dedicated police team conducted an extensive inquiry involving technical analysis, evidence collection, and witness examinations to trace the culprit.
Acting on technical leads, the police conducted a targeted raid at Village Bhagwan Chak in the Khour area of Jammu district, where they detained a suspect identified as Chhail Singh. Sustained interrogation and call data records established that the accused, a retired Army personnel currently working with Reliance Security Services in Mumbai, was in constant contact with the victim.
Investigation revealed that the accused and the victim were relatives and were allegedly involved in an illicit relationship, which had caused several disputes between them in recent days. On the day of the incident, an altercation broke out when the accused visited her residence, during which he intentionally murdered her.
The accused was formally arrested on May 20, 2026, and police subsequently recovered the weapon used during the offense. The swift operation was conducted by the Bari Brahmana police team under the direct supervision of the SDPO Bari Brahmana and the overall supervision of SSP Samba.
