Jammu PDD Safety Training: Hands-On Electrical Safety and CPR Workshop Conducted for Field Staff

JAMMU, May 22, 2026 — In a major push toward achieving zero-compromise workplace safety in the power sector, the Power Development Department (PDD) Inspection Division, Jammu, organized a specialized training workshop on “Electrical Safety and Accident Prevention” at the SLDC Hall in Gladni, Jammu. Conducted for C&D category employees and frontline field linestaff, the initiative follows directives from PDD Additional Chief Secretary, Ashwani Kumar, to enforce an accident-free environment across Jammu and Kashmir’s power infrastructure. The comprehensive outreach program focused on strengthening field preparedness, minimizing electrical hazards, and equipping technical personnel with vital emergency response capabilities during maintenance and power restoration works.

The workshop featured intensive, practical sessions on strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the correct deployment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Medical experts delivered live, hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first-aid training, teaching linemen immediate life-saving techniques for electrocution victims before medical help arrives. Additionally, fire safety professionals led live drills on extinguishing electrical fires and executing emergency evacuations. Led by Executive Engineer Er. Bhanu Partap Singh Jamwal and a senior technical team under the guidance of Chief Electrical Inspector Er. Sanjay Sharma, the program also showcased live demonstrations of modern safety gear, including discharge rods and safety tools, to ensure maximum protection for staff working under challenging field conditions.
