Udhampur police demolish illegal commercial property of notorious drug smuggler at Samroli

UDHAMPUR, May 22, 2026 — District Police Udhampur, in coordination with the District Administration, demolished an illegally constructed commercial property worth lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler at Samroli in Chenani.

The offender, identified as Tarlochan Dutt, a resident of Samroli, has a history of habitual offenses and is involved in a drug trafficking case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Chenani Police Station.

Investigations revealed that the individual had encroached upon state land along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to construct rooms and commercial structures using the proceeds of the narcotics trade.

The demolition was carried out as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, targeting the financial and logistical infrastructure of drug networks.

Following the operation, the Udhampur Police reiterated its strict commitment to dismantling narco-criminal operations and ensuring a drug-free society across the region.
