Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi reviews operational readiness in Mumbai
MUMBAI, May 21, 2026 — Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi concluded a three-day official visit to Mumbai yesterday, where he assessed the operational preparedness of the Western Naval Command.
During his visit from May 18 to May 20, the Navy Chief embarked on the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to personally witness a series of advanced multidimensional combat drills executed by the command’s surface, aerial, and subsurface assets. He highly commended the personnel for their unwavering professionalism and steadfast dedication to safeguarding the maritime interests of the nation.
In addition to reviewing naval operations, the Chief of the Naval Staff focused on personnel welfare and direct engagement with the force. He interacted closely with Naval personnel and Defense Civilians during a lunch hosted at the Indian Naval Sailors Institute Sagar, followed by a fireside chat at the Mulla Auditorium.
These sessions provided a platform for candid and constructive dialogue aimed at optimizing operational effectiveness while enhancing the overall motivation and welfare of the workforce.
