Lieutenant Governor hands over appointment letters to newly appointed Jammu and Kashmir Police constables
JAMMU, MAY 20 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today presented appointment letters to newly appointed constables of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor urged the new recruits to dedicate themselves to defending the unity and integrity of the motherland and to strengthen the proud legacy of this force.
He emphasized that the nature of law and order threats and terrorism has evolved, demanding constant, unyielding vigilance against threats that hide in plain sight.The Lieutenant Governor observed that new recruits must work as a team because the threats Jammu Kashmir confronts demand cooperation between different agencies.
He stated that sharing information, planning strategies, and confronting challenges together builds capacities that no single institution can create alone.
Noting that the nation faces a neighbor widely known as a source of terrorism, he stressed that newly recruited constables must stand on the front line of national security with determination to eliminate terror threats alongside maintaining law and order.
The Lieutenant Governor stated that everyone should work with resolve and efficiency to rid Jammu Kashmir of fear and terrorism. He explained that terror does not sustain itself and requires money, networks, and support systems. He urged the use of the full force of the law to trace and neutralize sources of funding, identify every network, and dismantle support systems completely.
He also cautioned that along with modern tools, the police force should adopt the tradecraft of basic policing, noting that beat policing proves highly effective in matters of law and order.The Lieutenant Governor said all new recruits are heirs to a noble legacy and will enrich it further, adding that every uniform of the Jammu and Kashmir Police tells a story of courage, commitment, and purpose woven into the fabric of the nation’s history.
He encouraged the recruits to take pride in the ideals of defense and service that define both their duty and honor. He also commended the Jammu Kashmir Police for its swift and effective action against drug smugglers and peddlers during the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Campaign, expressing confidence that upcoming stringent actions will yield major successes.
Over 3,200 newly recruited constables were inducted into the Jammu Kashmir Police Force during the event. The appointment letters presentation ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Department Chandraker Bharti, Special DG Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, Commandant General Home Guards Abdul Ghani Mir, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor Mandeep K. Bhandari, senior officials of the police and civil administration, and family members of the new recruits.
