Medical Shop in Pahloo Kulgam Closed for Dispensing Medicines Without Prescription

KULGAM, MAY 20 — The Drug Control Authority Kulgam, in coordination with a team from the block medical officer, closed down a local chemist shop today for violating license conditions under rule 65 by selling medicines without the prescription of a registered medical practitioner.

Following the enforcement action, regional authorities reiterated their advice to the public to strictly purchase medicines only when backed by a valid medical prescription.

Consumers were also reminded to always demand an official cash or credit memo for every pharmaceutical purchase to ensure transparency and accountability among chemist shops.
