Jammu Assembly Complex Construction Speeded Up After Progress Review
JAMMU, MAY 20 — Nasir Aslam Wani, the advisor to the chief minister, led a comprehensive on-site review of the new legislative complex in Jammu today to check construction progress and push for a timely completion.
The executive engineer of the PWD project division presented an overview of the floor-wise facilities, the increased seating capacity of the assembly hall, the central hall construction, and the external finishing work.
The advisor toured the main assembly hall, administrative chambers, and public utility spaces, stating that the modern complex is vital for future democratic proceedings and public representatives.
Engineers were directed to ensure the integration of advanced IT infrastructure, modern acoustics, enhanced security systems, and e-Vidhan facilities.During the regional tour, the advisor also inspected several major infrastructure and development projects across Jammu alongside senior officials, including chief engineer Rajesh Augustam.
The team reviewed the permanent restoration work of the approach road to the fourth Tawi bridge, which has been allotted at an estimated cost of 14.59 crore rupees with a 12-month completion timeline to improve local connectivity.
Additionally, the advisor inspected a newly completed 105-meter span prestressed RCC bridge over Balole Nalla at Gadi Garh, which was built within 24 months at a cost of 7.2 crore rupees.
Arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra were also a major focus of the inspection tour. The advisor reviewed the 1.59 crore rupees repair and renovation works at the Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp, which include the construction of temporary sheds, hangars, and langar facilities, alongside road tarring in parking areas.
The PWD division briefed the advisor on infrastructure readiness, while chief medical officer Harbaksh Singh provided an update on healthcare arrangements at the local primary health centre.
The advisor instructed all concerned authorities to finish the ongoing works swiftly to ensure adequate facilities are available for both the public and incoming pilgrims.
