Reasi Police Destroy Over 8 KG of Seized Narcotics Under Section 52A NDPS Act

REASI, May 19, 2026: In a major strike against drug trafficking under the #NashaMuktJammuKashmirAbhiyan initiative, the Reasi District Police destroyed over 8 kilograms of confiscated contraband and thousands of psychotropic substances. Executed under the strict mandates of Section 52-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the high-volume disposal targeted illicit materials seized across 21 distinct narcotics cases.

The disposal operation followed a rigorous protocol mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and guidelines from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The District Drug Disposal Committee (DDC), spearheaded by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, oversaw the permanent elimination of the drugs. The seized haul—which included heroin, ganja, poppy straw, and approximately 7,000 illegal capsules—was safely obliterated through a controlled incineration process at the Anmol Healthcare facility in Vijaypur, Samba district.

Key high-ranking officials ensured the lawful execution of the destruction drive, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy.SP) Headquarters Reasi, Dy.SP DAR DPL Reasi, Dy.SP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and Dy.SP CID CI. This successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Jammu & Kashmir Police to dismantle local drug networks, enforce a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, and foster a safer, drug-free society through continuous enforcement and community awareness.
