Jammu & Kashmir Police Intensify Anti-Drug Operations and Awareness in Awantipora
AWANTIPORA, May 19: In a continuing effort to combat substance abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified their crackdown on narcotics trafficking across Awantipora. Law enforcement authorities carried out a series of targeted anti-narcotics raids and searches at multiple suspected locations—including Ladermur, Larkipora, and Woyen—aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals involved in the illicit drug trade.
Alongside these aggressive enforcement measures, police are simultaneously focusing on community outreach to educate the public on the severe impact of substance abuse. As part of this initiative, a comprehensive Drug Awareness Programme was hosted at the Khrew Bus Stand, where local residents and youth were sensitized to the dangers of narcotics and urged to actively participate in building a drug-free society. Reaffirming their commitment to the goals of the Nasha Mukt campaign, the police have called upon the general public to assist law enforcement by reporting any information regarding drug peddling or substance abuse to help secure a safer and healthier community.
