Transport Secretary Avny Lavasa reviews Vibrant Villages Programme at Suchetgarh border

JAMMU, May 18, 2026 :- Transport Department Secretary Avny Lavasa visited Block Suchetgarh to conduct a comprehensive review of the Vibrant Villages Programme for the border villages of Kushalpur and Nai Basti Gulabgarh.

During the review meeting, the Secretary emphasized the critical need to identify and bridge development gaps in a planned and measurable manner. She directed all line departments to carry out a detailed gap assessment based on baseline data in both villages to ensure that the long-term impact of developmental interventions can be effectively evaluated over the next one to two years.

Avny Lavasa underlined that public expenditure, particularly regarding construction and built infrastructure, must remain prudent and outcome-oriented to guarantee optimal resource utilization and eliminate waste.

She reiterated that inter-departmental convergence and active community participation are essential prerequisites for the inclusive and sustainable growth of border areas, ensuring the mandate of the program translates into tangible benefits for local residents.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary of the Transport Department Musheer Ahmad Mirza, the Tehsildar of Suchetgarh, the Block Development Officer, and the Block Medical Officer of RS Pura, alongside farmers, former Panchayati Raj Institution members, prominent citizens, Border Security Force officers, and representatives from various key line departments.
