Father of jailed Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid passes away at AIIMS Delhi
SRINAGAR, May 18, 2026 :- Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, the father of incarcerated Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid, passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi following a prolonged illness.
The eighty-five-year-old had been battling multiple health issues for an extended period before his demise.He was initially admitted to the Chest Diseases Hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
As his medical condition deteriorated, he was shifted to SMHS Hospital and subsequently referred to AIIMS Delhi for advanced medical care, where he breathed his last.
His son, Engineer Rashid, who is currently lodged in jail, represents the Baramulla parliamentary constituency.
