Ludhiana police bust transnational terror gangster nexus with arrest of two operatives

LUDHIANA May 18,2026 — The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, in a joint operation with the Counter Intelligence wing of the Punjab Police, has successfully busted a transnational terror-gangster nexus.

The specialized operation resulted in the apprehension of two operatives and the recovery of three illegal pistols along with 11 live cartridges.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested individuals were acting on the direct instructions of foreign-based handlers operating from Germany and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The operatives had been assigned high-profile targeted shootings, and law enforcement officials confirmed that their timely arrest successfully averted potentially serious criminal activities in the region.

A formal case has been registered at the Ladowal Police Station in Ludhiana, and further investigations are actively underway to establish both forward and backward linkages of this international network to identify other associates involved.

State police authorities reiterated their commitment to completely dismantling organized crime networks to ensure ongoing peace and security across Punjab.
