Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation meets Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to discuss industrial growth

CHENNAI May 18,2026 — A high-level delegation from the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister S Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat to discuss initiatives for accelerating industrial and economic growth.

The meeting focused primarily on measures to further simplify business procedures and enhance the ease of doing business across the state to boost commercial trade.The chief minister commended the vital role played by the industrial body in acting as a productive bridge between the state government and the industrial sector.

After listening closely to the feedback and recommendations submitted by the chamber, the chief minister assured the delegation that necessary steps would be taken to address their proposals and resolve outstanding issues.

He further requested the organization to continue providing its cooperation and guidance to help foster a highly investor-friendly environment in Tamil Nadu.

The meeting was attended by key representatives including MCCI President and Chemplast Sanmar Advisor Ramkumar Shankar, MCCI Vice President and Delphi TVS Chairman A Viswanathan, and MCCI Secretary General K Saraswathi.
