Doda MLA Mehraj Malik urges Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister to finalize non-gazetted recruitment rules for new government medical colleges
DODA May 18,2026 — Doda Member of Legislative Assembly and Aam Aadmi Party Jammu and Kashmir President Mehraj Malik has written an official letter to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seeking urgent intervention regarding the framing and implementation of Service Recruitment Rules for non-gazetted staff at newly established government medical colleges.
The communication highlights the long-pending grievances of healthcare employees working across institutions such as Government Medical College Doda and other new medical colleges in the union territory.
According to the official document, the lack of finalized recruitment rules has subjected dedicated healthcare staff to severe administrative and career-related hardships.
The absence of a clear framework has created prolonged uncertainty regarding promotions, seniority lists, personnel transfers, career progression, and other standard service benefits.
Expressing deep concern over the continued delays, the affected employees have indicated plans to initiate peaceful demonstrations to draw attention to their demands.
Highlighting that the issue directly impacts the welfare and morale of hundreds of healthcare workers, the MLA requested the chief minister to prioritize the matter and direct the concerned department to expedite the comprehensive rules, with a copy of the memorandum also forwarded to Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo for necessary action.
