DMK president MK Stalin warns new government against spreading lies on social media
THANJAVUR May 18,2026 — DMK President and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin attended the wedding ceremony of party colleague Poondi Kalaivanan’s family in Thanjavur, where he extended his wishes to the newlyweds.
Addressing the gathering, he noted that the event belonged to a dedicated party family, paying tribute to the lifelong contributions of Poondi Krishnasamy and Poondi Kalaichelvan to the DMK.
Reflecting on his return to travel after a brief hiatus, the opposition leader stated that he deeply felt the warmth and emotional connection shown by party workers and citizens since landing in Trichy.
Commenting on the current political landscape, he emphasized that the DMK has no intention of disrupting the functioning of the newly formed government.
However, he explicitly warned opposition workers that if the ruling administration attempts to conceal its administrative shortcomings by launching slanderous attacks or spreading falsehoods on social media, the DMK will aggressively counter them with facts.
