Kishtwar 10th August :- During early hours vigilant Indian Army personnel carrying out an Intelligence-based operation made contact with terrorists in the general area of Dul, Kishtwar.
An intense firefight followed, the operation still in progress as security personnel move to eliminate the threat. The area, which forms part of Jammu and Kashmir’s turbulent landscape, has witnessed such counter-terrorist operations in the past.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps released a formal statement verifying the encounter, saying soldiers had engaged with the terrorists and that the operation was ongoing with extra vigilance. The statement highlighted the Army’s determination to eliminate terrorism without causing much collateral damage.
The Indian Army still adheres to a policy of zero tolerance for terrorism, with exercises such as these affirming their commitment to regional stability.
