LG Manoj Sinha Calls for Campus Transformation at Jammu University Innovathon to Realize Developed India@2047
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 17, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a powerful call to action at the valedictory function of “Innovathon 1.0,” a 48-hour national-level hackathon held at the University of Jammu.
Addressing a large gathering of young innovators and entrepreneurs, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the vision of Developed India@2047 is a solemn commitment to future generations, requiring the youth to step up as the primary architects and designers of the nation’s future. He noted that modern educational campuses must evolve beyond degree-granting institutions to become “factories of ideas” and technological ecosystems that refuse to remain static, embracing rapid changes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Quantum Computing as opportunities rather than hurdles.
Highlighting the shifting landscape of global employment, Manoj Sinha observed that skills which ensured jobs just five years ago are quickly becoming obsolete. He urged a pivotal shift in classroom dynamics—moving from passive learning to active creation—where the focus transitions from “what do you know” to “what can you build.”
By focusing on the five thematic pillars of the hackathon—AI, Cyber-Physical Systems, Sustainability, Health-Tech, and Responsible Tourism—the Lieutenant Governor stressed that India must aim for leadership in the global technology revolution.
,He clarified that AI should serve to augment human capability rather than replace it, tasking educational institutions and startups to bridge the gap between prototypes and viable commercial products that genuinely improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
