GANDERBAL, FEB 8, 2026 — As part of an intensified campaign to eradicate social evils and illicit activities within the district, the Ganderbal Police successfully apprehended two individuals for gambling in the Narayan-Bagh area.
Acting on specific intelligence within the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora, the police team conducted a swift raid that resulted in the arrest of Bilal Ahmad Malik, a resident of Gamwara, Wakura, and Manzoor Ahmad Khan, a resident of Narayan-Bagh.
During the operation, authorities seized a set of playing cards and stake money totaling ₹3,370 from the gambling site. Following the arrests, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 19/2026 at the Ganderbal Police Station under Section 13 of the Gambling Act.
While further investigations are currently underway to identify broader links, the Ganderbal Police have reaffirmed their commitment to public order and strongly encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or illegal activities in their neighborhoods.
