BJP Prioritizes Border Belt Development and Public Welfare in Poonch

JAMMU, January 06, 2026: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, alongside General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, led a high-level organizational meeting today to strategize development and outreach for the Poonch district.

During the session held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Sharma asserted that Poonch remains a region of immense strategic and geopolitical significance. He criticized previous political regimes for treating border districts as mere vote banks, contrasting this with the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development and security-driven welfare under the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” framework.

Addressing the gathered leadership, Sharma urged party workers to intensify grassroots engagement and act as a direct bridge between the public and the government. He emphasized that the primary goal is to ensure that the benefits of Central government schemes reach every deserving family in the border belt.

Complementing this directive, Ashok Koul focused on the necessity of a disciplined organizational structure, calling for regular meetings at the booth and mandal levels to strengthen the party’s presence. He reviewed recent organizational progress and outlined upcoming programs designed to enhance public service and coordination within the district.

The meeting featured contributions from other senior leaders, including BJP Vice-President Shehnaz Ganai, who highlighted improvements in regional connectivity and infrastructure as evidence of the party’s dedication. General Secretary Gopal Mahajan further advised local leaders to collaborate with social workers and community influencers to deepen public engagement.

The session concluded with a collective call to action for the Poonch district leadership to work with renewed dedication toward addressing public grievances and fostering a roadmap for long-term regional prosperity.
