JAMMU, January 05, 2026: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, IT, Youth Services, Sports, and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma, participated in the auspicious celebrations of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The Minister attended the primary commemorative function at the Chand Buwi Kour Gurdwara and visited several other Gurdwaras across the city to pay his obeisance.
During the visit, he offered prayers for peace and prosperity, paying glowing tributes to the tenth Sikh Guru while reflecting on his life’s dedication to truth, justice, and the service of humanity.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Satish Sharma emphasized that the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji—centered on fearlessness, equality, and an unwavering commitment to righteousness—remain a guiding light for millions globally.
He noted that the Guru’s visionary role went beyond spiritual leadership, as he empowered the marginalized to stand firmly against injustice and tyranny.
The Minister urged the public, specifically the youth, to internalize these values of discipline, integrity, and selfless service to foster a more compassionate and equitable society.
The Minister also took the opportunity to laud the profound contributions of the Sikh community to the nation’s heritage. He highlighted their legacy of patriotism and sacrifice, noting how Sikh institutions and Gurdwaras serve as pillars of social welfare through initiatives like Langar and various humanitarian outreach programs.
He expressed deep appreciation for the community’s role in promoting communal harmony and social cohesion across the region.Concluding his visit, Satish Sharma interacted with religious leaders and members of the Sangat, extending his warm greetings on this sacred occasion.
