BUDGAM, December 30: As part of its ongoing Civic Action Programme (CAP), the Budgam Police successfully organized a high-energy Volleyball Knockout Tournament aimed at fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and positive engagement among the youth.
The event, held at the Boys Higher Secondary School in Magam, saw spirited participation from various teams across the Magam Sub-Division, drawing a large crowd of sports enthusiasts and local supporters.The tournament culminated in an intense final match between Dangerpora Magam and Goomahmadpora Magam. After a display of exceptional skill and teamwork, Dangerpora Magam emerged victorious, clinching the championship title.
The closing ceremony was attended by SDPO Magam, Mohammad Ashrif (JKPS), who served as the Chief Guest. During his interaction with the athletes, he emphasized that sports are vital for developing a healthy lifestyle and steer the youth away from negative influences, reinforcing the values of team spirit and dedication.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners and runners-up were honored with trophies, cash prizes, and certificates of merit. This initiative received widespread praise from local residents and civil society members, who lauded the Jammu & Kashmir Police for their proactive role in youth empowerment.
