RAMBAN, February 02, 2026: The 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) observed the 18th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shaheed Constable Mushtaq Ahmed today with a solemn tribute ceremony held at Parnote, Maitra.
A resident of the local area, Constable Mushtaq Ahmed made the supreme sacrifice on February 2, 2008, during a high-stakes anti-Maoist operation in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.
While serving with the 63 Battalion, his column was ambushed by heavily armed Maoists; however, the CRPF personnel displayed exceptional valor, launching a counter-offensive that forced the insurgents to retreat.
During the intense engagement, Constable Ahmed fought courageously to protect his team, ultimately attaining martyrdom in the line of duty.
To commemorate his legacy, a commemorative event was organized at Oakfield International School, attended by the Commandant of the 84 Bn CRPF, N. Ranbir Singh, along with senior officers, over 100 personnel, and members of the martyr’s family.
Floral tributes were offered to the braveheart, and the Commandant expressed deep condolences and pride in Ahmed’s selfless service, which remains an inspiration for the force.
Reaffirming the CRPF’s commitment to supporting the families of its heroes, the Commandant presented a shawl and memento to the martyr’s wife, Veer Nari Rubina Begum, as a mark of respect for the family’s sacrifice.
