76 Bn CRPF Honors Martyrs on Seventh Anniversary of Pulwama Terror Attack in Jammu

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: The 76 Bn CRPF solemnly observed the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack today, marking “Remembrance Day” with a poignant ceremony at its headquarters in Gangyal, Jammu.

The nation continues to remember February 14, 2019, as the day one of the most heinous terrorist acts occurred when a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) targeted a CRPF convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Lethpora.

This tragic event resulted in the supreme sacrifice of 40 valiant CRPF personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s security history.

During the commemorative event, the battalion specifically honored five of its own brave hearts who perished in the 2019 attack: Shaheed HC/GD Naseer Ahmed, Shaheed HC/DVR Jaimal Singh, Shaheed CT/GD Rohtas Lamba, Shaheed CT/GD Sukhjinder Singh, and Shaheed CT/Bugler Tilak Raj.

A formal wreath-laying ceremony was led by Commandant 76 Bn CRPF Vezoto Tinyi, alongside Second-in-Command Jayram Prasad, Second-in-Command Sangeeta Chouhan, and Assistant Commandant Anil Kumar.

The officers and personnel gathered to pay their deepest respects, reaffirming their commitment to the values of bravery and sacrifice exemplified by the fallen heroes.
