100 per cent relief work of flood damaged houses completed in Ramban district, says Dr Jitendra Singh

Ramban 28 September :- Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that 100 per cent relief work has been completed on flood damaged houses Ramban district. Dr Singh was speaking during the DISHA meeting with the district administration of Ramban to review the progress of Centrally-sponsored schemes. He said the administration is now focussed on rebuilding public infrastructure damaged during the recent floods.

The Minister said Ramban has achieved a unique distinction on multiple fronts, with the district achieving saturation in Pradhan Mantra Jan Aarogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Expressing happiness at the achievement, he announced thar PM-JAY 2.0 would be launched in the district soon. It has also become the first district in J&K which has done screening of all the patients of Non-Communicable Diseases(NCDs), the Minister informed. During the meeting, the minister stressed on the need for local representatives and officers to work in close coordination to address public issues. Dr Jitendra Singh called for organising awareness camps on PM Mudra yojana and PM SvaNidhi for small business and street vendors.

The Minister informed that in view of shortage of ambulances, one ambulance has been provided to Ramban, utilising funds under MPLAD. He said the shortage of doctors and medical personnel is also being addressed. He suggested that as an interim measure, contractual employees be hired. He said efforts are being taken to further strengthen public health infrastructure in the district.

During the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized on effective monitoring and implementation of all schemes and other public welfare programmes. He directed the concerned departments to prioritize essential services like electricity and water, and focus on improving road connectivity in remote areas of the district to ensure that benefits of welfare schemes reach public at the grassroots level.

Today’s meeting was attended by DDC Chairman Ramban Dr. Shamshad Shan; MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju; Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, DDC members and other senior officers of Civil and Police Administration, besides members of the DISHA Committee.
